I had the following conversation, “Cindy, do you have any tips for what to do when you get nervous? What can I actually DO to get RID of this? I hate being nervous but I can’t help it.”
This video will give you 3 quick tips to try, and it all has to do with your taking control of your mindset BEFORE your talk.
(1) Lay down on a couch or sit back in a chair. Close your eyes. Visualize yourself giving your talk. Do this in SLOW MOTION.
(2) While doing this 👆🏼, occasionally pause during the ‘video’ you’re playing in your mind and switch over to your audience. Think about THEM. Visualize what they are doing when they “get it.”
(3) Get granular. In this exercise, go deep and think about your placement on the stage, the shoes you’re wearing, look for the person in the back row. Is it virtual? Imagine people leaning in and paying close attention, raising their zoom hands, writing things down.
