Her eyes lit up. “Mom, wow! That is my favorite slide now. It made such a big difference!” That’s what my 6th grader said last night.
She’s doing a PowerPoint on Lyra, a constellation. In the deck, she has Outerspace as her background.
She couldn’t figure out how to lay the text box on top so the white font “popped.” So I taught her about the “Arrange” feature in PowerPoint.
The point here though is that she now loves her slides! She can’t wait to present them to her class. She wants to show them off.
This is how you can feel too. When speakers love their slide decks, it’s a total money makeover.
It changes everything.
- You’re excited, and your verbals and non-verbals show it.
- You are much more confident!
- You want to present the slides to anyone who will watch.
Think of your slide deck as as an individual card on the deck. No matter what game you are playing every card has a role. You can’t win a game of poker without bringing many cards together and you can’t build your pitch without a solid deck.
